Organizations, particularly SMEs, interested in learn- ing more about the development of the FAST services are encouraged to make contact with the team via the project website. One of the benefts to potential end-users from participating in service development is access to cutting-edge techniques that can provide advan- tages in terms of cost reductions and effciency due to improvements in data gathering and decision making. Over- all, these benefts should be passed on to citizens as increased value for money and improved safety and well- being. In the near future, growth in the availability of EO data is going to be exponential. Thus, the only potential limit on the vast capacity of Coperni- cus to stimulate knowledge-based ser- vices in coastal zones is the ingenuity of the global ocean community. Morris received his Ph.D. in ocean- ography and marine biology from the University of Groningen in 2005. His research interests include the interaction of coastal vegetation with hydrody- namics and Earth observation. Since 2014, he has been employed as a post-doc in the EU-FP7 project "Foreshore Assessment Using Space Technology" at the University of Cádiz, Spain. Dr. Jesus Gomez-Enri is an associate lecturer at the University of Cádiz, Spain, where he received his Ph.D. in marine sciences in 2002. His main re- search interest is satellite oceanography in coastal areas using radar altimetry and synthetic aperture radar. Dr. Daphne van der Wal is a researcher at the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research in Yerseke, Netherlands. She received her Ph.D. in physical ge- ography from the University of Amsterdam in 1999.
