In March 2013, Austal will begin building the 27-meter Wind Express 27 catamarans at its Philippines shipyard over nine months. Turbine Transfers. Ocean Power Technologies Inc., Pennington, New Jersey, 70 million yen contract to develop its PowerBuoy for Japanese sea conditions. The company will analyze buoy power capture and carry out modeling and wave tank testing by April 2013. Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. ATLAS North America, Virginia Beach, Virginia, contract to deliver the ATLAS Portable SeaFox Mine Neutralization Systems, the one-shot mine disposal vehicles. ATLAS will install, integrate, test, train personnel and offer life-cycle support. Deliveries will be complete within one calendar year. U.S. Naval Surface Weapons Center. Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, three-year contract to develop GPS jamming and spoofng detection technology. In the frst year, Rockwell Collins will develop advanced algorithms. In the second and third years, the company will conduct lab testing and demonstrations. U.S. Offce of Naval Research. SAIC Inc., McLean, Virginia, contract for the Anti-Submarine Warfare Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel program to build and test a prototype unmanned autonomous surface vessel. The $58 million contract has a threeyear period for program phases two and three, with a $1 million 18-month option for phase four. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. National Hyperbaric Centre, Aberdeen, Scotland, four-fgure contract in West Africa for the provision of its diving auditing software, DiveCert, which assists with the regular certifcation maintenance of diving equipment. TPSMI Group. Subsea 7 S.A., London, England, $70 million contract for subsea work in the Gullfaks C feld, including engineering, installation and commissioning of a 15.5-kilometer integrated power service umbilical, protection structure and subsea compressor station. Offshore operations will start in 2015. Statoil. exactEarth Ltd., Cambridge, Canada, agreement to renew exactAIS data service through to October 2014, with access to exactAIS Premium to deliver AIS data as an integrated feed. South African Maritime Safety Authority. Martek Marine, Rotherham, England, seven orders, totaling more than $1 million, for emissions monitoring systems, including the MariNOx Evolution onboard emissions monitoring and engine effciency system. SeaRoc. L-3 Klein Associates Inc., Salem, New Hampshire, award for seven life-cycle kits to upgrade existing L-3 Klein 5000 sonar systems to the S5900 multibeam side scan sonar. The S5900 will be deployed from six T-AGS 60-class survey ships. U.S. Naval Oceanographic Offce. OceanWorks International, Houston, Texas, contract to supply a spare node base and two node pods for the ongoing operation and maintenance of CSnet International's Offshore Communications Backbone system. The system, deployed in 3,000 meters of water in the Mediterranean Sea, provides scientists with real-time data from sensors. Harris CapRock Communications. Sumitomo Corp., Tokyo, Japan and Universal Shipbuilding Corp., Kawasaki, Japan, contract to design and construct an ice-breaking bulk carrier for transporting nickel and copper concentrates from the Nunavik Nickel Project in Canada to Europe. The Polar-class-4 vessel is scheduled for delivery in December 2013.
