detailed observation work, the Tiger also comes equipped with a wide-angle, low-light black-and-white camera and a color zoom camera. LiqTech Awarded MINT Fund for BWTS LiqTech Pte Ltd. (Singapore) was awarded in November the Maritime and Port of Authority of Singapore's Maritime Innovation & Technology (MINT) Fund for the development of a ballast water treatment system (BWTS). LiqTech will be test bedding its silicon carbide membrane to confgure a fltration solution for BWTS to meet the International Maritime Organization's standards. LiqTech will commence its development of the BWTS this quarter 2012. OceanWise analyzed existing practices and systems that resulted in the preparation of a GIS roadmap and spatial and environmental data management system to allow information to be shared and exchanged more easily between different business areas and with external stakeholders. Costa Concordia Wreck-Removal Site Launches Costa Crociere S.p.A. (Genoa, Italy), with Titan Salvage Company (Pompano Beach, Florida) and Micoperi (Ravenna, Italy), launched a website in November with information and images relating to the Costa Concordia wreck-removal project at www.theparbucklingproject.com. The website will be updated to refect the different phases of the project. UK Launches Vessel-Effciency Competition Cobham Rebrands Thrane & Thrane as SATCOM Unit Cobham plc (Dorset, England) has established a new strategic business unit, Denmark-based Cobham SATCOM, that combines the group's satellite communications businesses, following the acquisition and integration of Thrane & Thrane A/S (Lyngby, Denmark) earlier this year. Thrane & Thrane began trading as Cobham SATCOM in November and will form the core of the new business unit. The U.K. government's Technology Strategy Board has launched a competition into vessel effciency, with up to £8 million available in funding. It will be open for proposals from mid-January until mid-March 2013. The competition is pitched at the U.K. marine industry as a whole, including shipbuilders, military suppliers and offshore renewables. Exocetus Names Two New Sales Agents OceanWise Completes First Phase Of Information Infrastructure for Clydeport OceanWise (Hampshire, England) has completed phase one of a maritime information infrastructure for Clydeport Ltd. (Glasgow, Scotland), improving data and information management in the hydrographic and dredging department. Exocetus Development LLC (Anchorage, Alaska) has named Imbros PL (Tasmania, Australia) as its exclusive agent in Australia/Pacifc, effective in October, for the sales and marketing of the Exocetus Coastal Gilder.
