The completion of the transaction is subject to mandatory antitrust clearances. Closing is targeted before year-end. Imtech Marine Expands to Barcelona Imtech Marine (Rotterdam, Netherlands) opened a new offce in Barcelona, Spain, in November, located in the Marina Barcelona 92 S.A. shipyard. The company now has 94 offces worldwide. The Barcelona offce has 24/7 service and covers the company's systems and services portfolio, including automation, energy and drive, navigation and communication. Japanese Companies to Jointly Develop Ship Maintenance Management System ClassNK (Tokyo, Japan), IHI Marine United Inc. (Tokyo), Diesel United Ltd. (Tokyo) and IBM Japan will jointly develop a ship maintenance management system to help reduce ship life-cycle cost. The system, which will make use of the latest condition-monitoring sensor technology and data analysis systems, will be offered by ClassNK as a cloudbased service from June 2013. From April to July 2012, ClassNK, IHI Marine United and IBM Japan carried out research to investigate methods for the early detection of machinery abnormalities. Experience Builds a Better Product... UNDERWATER PLUGGABLE CONNECTORS Seagull Receives Rights to ISF Training Books Seagull AS (Horten, Norway) has signed a licensing agreement with the International Shipping Federation (London, England), or ISF, that will allow Seagull to utilize electronic versions of the ISF Onboard Training Record Books in conjunction with the Seagull Competence Manager software. The agreement grants Seagull the right to sublicense the four books to ship operators who use the Seagull Training Administrator program. LinkQuest Delivers TrackLink for Autosub6000 AUV More than 40 years of it, at your service. LinkQuest Inc. (San Diego, California) has delivered its third TrackLink 10000 ultralong-range ultrashort baseline (USBL) acoustic tracking system with integrated acoustic modem function to the National Oceanography Centre in the U.K. The TrackLink 10000 system has a range of 11,000 meters using a directional transponder and a range of 7,000 meters using an omnidirectional transponder. It will support the positioning and tracking of the center's Autosub6000 AUV.
