Japanese Companies to Jointly Develop Ship Maintenance Management System ClassNK (Tokyo, Japan), IHI Marine United Inc. (Tokyo), Diesel United Ltd. (Tokyo) and IBM Japan will jointly develop a ship maintenance management system to help reduce ship life-cycle cost. The system, which will make use of the latest condition-monitoring sensor technology and data analysis systems, will be offered by ClassNK as a cloudbased service from June 2013. (San Diego, California) has delivered its third TrackLink 10000 ultralong-range ultrashort baseline (USBL) acoustic tracking system with integrated acoustic modem function to the National Oceanography Centre in the U.K. The TrackLink 10000 system has a range of 11,000 meters using a directional transponder and a range of 7,000 meters using an omnidirectional transponder.
