Mosely High School from Lynnhaven, Florida, with TRIGONUS. One independent team also participated: Kids Into Discov- ering Science (KIDS) from Ac- cokeek, Maryland, with RUB- BER DUCKIE. Support Strong host support from Naval Surface Warfare Cen- ter, Carderock Division, the Office of Naval Research and the Program Executive Officer Submarines was evident throughout the week as several Navy officials, including RAdm. Tom Druggan, commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center; RAdm. Charles Rock, commandant, Naval District Washington, and George Drakeley, a member of the Senior Executive Service and the executive director of the Program Executive Office Submarines, visited the races and spoke with teams. Industry and professional organizations also provided support for the races. Person, Propeller, High School category was Hernando County Schools in SUBLIME with a speed of 5.77 kt.; the One Person, Propeller, Independent team winner was the KIDS team with RUBBER DUCKIE with a speed of 1.24 kt. The Two-Person, Propeller, College winner was University of Washington, with KNOTTY DAWG achieving a speed of 3.27 kt. The winner of the One Person, Nonpropeller, Col- lege category was OMER X from the École de Technologie Supérieure with a speed of 4.59 kt. Participants This year's participants represented 21 teams with 22 boats from around the world and across the academic spectrum. Six countries: Canada, Germany, Mexico, Neth- erlands, United Kingdom and the United States were repre- sented with a total of 16 universities, four high schools and one independent group fielding teams.
