OTC is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to ad- vance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources and environmen- tal matters. OTC gives attendees access to leading-edge technical information, the industry's largest equipment exhibition and valuable new professional contacts from around the world. The show attracts up to 70,000 attendees from 100 countries and up to 2,000 exhibiting companies. It's spon- sored by 13 nonprofit organizations in the energy industry who work cooperatively to develop the technical program, and revenue from the event directly benefits the membership of these societies. Technical Program OTC 2017's technical sessions and topi- cal breakfasts and luncheons will continue the expansive coverage of topics of past conferences. In addition to recurring topics, an emphasis is being made on breakthrough technologies, standardization to reduce costs, improved oil recovery techniques, industry-leading safety practices, and more.
