This is the 16th U.S. Hydrographic Con- ference and is the largest hydro- graphic conference in the U.S. The theme for this year's conference is "Hydrography: The key to exceptional stewardship of the seas and waterways." Technical Sessions In addition to the technical papers, the conference will feature an extensive series of workshops, on-water dem- onstrations, social program, Exhibition Hall, and a Student Outreach program. The conference will also include tech- nical sessions and a poster session on the latest develop- ments and applications in hydrographic surveying; multi- beam and side scan sonar; data management; electronic charting; marine archaeology; and other related topics. Topics include Vector and Raster Charting: The Wave of the Future; Oilfield Hydrography; Hydrographic Mapping Initiatives; The Future of Hydrography; Coastal Manage- ment through Hydrography; Hydrographic Education Op- portunities; Hydrographic Data Management and Processing Techniques; and Multiple Uses of Hydrographic Data. Exhibit Hall The exhibit hall will be home to 70 booths with the latest equipment and software for hydrographic surveying. On-the-water demonstrations by providers of hydrographic equipment and software are ex- pected.
