48 st / November 2016 www.sea-technology.com Perdido Fast Trax Results Now Available CGG announced that the Fast Trax Reverse Time Migration (RTM) data from its Encontrado multicli- ent mega-merge project covering the Perdido fold belt has been delivered ahead of Mexico's December Licens- ing Round. The Fast Trax results are available for license on a nonexclusive basis, with final imaging data sets expected in summer 2017.The Encontrado re- processing project merges more than 38,000 sq. km of wide-azimuth data from over nine previously acquired and processed surveys, covering some of the most prospective areas of the Gulf of Mexico, including the Great White and Trion discovery to the north and Corfu and Ixcuta fur- ther south. More than 35,000 sq. km of the data are in the Mexican Gulf of Mexico. The data are being pro- cessed through an advanced high- end sequence, including bandwidth extension and 3D deghosting, 3D SRME and advanced imaging using TTI RTM and Kirchhoff migrations. Tomography and full-waveform in- version are being used to enhance the velocity model. JIP on Best Practices For FPSO Industry Endeavor Management has opened participation in its latest joint industry project (JIP) on best practic- es for the FPSO industry. In today's price environment, un- derstanding the best practices for managing, designing and executing projects is essential. On FPSOs, this need is critical due to the numerous interfaces, contractual boundaries and challenging regulatory, flag-state and class requirements. Understand- ing the best practices in these areas should lead to streamlined projects with a stronger chance of achieving success. The issues to be examined by the JIP include: strategic decisions, proj- ect delivery, mooring and offloading, hull design, process module design, vapor recovery, gas and water treat- ing, start-up and end of project, and operational considerations. Anadarko to Acquire Deepwater GOM Assets Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has en- tered into a definitive agreement to acquire the deepwater Gulf of Mex- ico (GOM) assets of Freeport McMo- Ran Oil & Gas for $2.0 billion. The transaction is expected to close be- fore the end of the year. This doubles Anadarko's owner- ship in the Lucius development to approximately 49 percent and adds approximately 80,000 net barrels of oil equivalent per day, more than 80 percent of which is oil. Central GOM Lease Sale 247 in March The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will offer ap- proximately 47 million acres offshore Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama for oil and gas exploration and devel- opment in a lease sale that will in- clude all available unleased areas in the Central Planning Area (CPA). Proposed Central Gulf of Mexico (GOM) Lease Sale 247, scheduled to take place in New Orleans in March 2017, will be the 12th offshore sale under the Barack Obama Adminis- tration's Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program for 2012 to 2017. Quest Offshore to Assist Calash Expansion into US Quest Offshore Consulting has inked a venture with Calash Ltd. to assist the expansion of its services to the U.S., with the opening of offices in Houston and New York City. A Ca- lash/Quest Consulting combination will offer enhanced services to U.S.- based private equity, debt and the wider investment community, with a focus on strategic due diligence across the energy sector, targeted at the U.S. onshore and offshore oilfield service and E&P; markets. The Hous- ton and New York offices build upon Calash's current locations in Aber- deen, London and Sydney. ACE Winches Completes Work for Technip ACE Winches has completed a scope of work for Technip as part of a subsea infrastructure project in the Loyal field, west of the Shetland Islands. Quad204 is the redevelop- ment of the Schiehallion and Loyal fields, located 175 km west of Shet- land and 15 km north of the Foinaven field. The complete project will see an existing FPSO vessel replaced with a larger, purpose-built FPSO to accom- modate new field tie-ins. The devel- opment of additional wells and the installation of new subsea infrastruc- tures in neighboring fields are also planned. The bespoke solution from ACE Winches includes a hydraulic drum winch, overboard system and spool- ing gear. Trelleborg Selects Unique Group for India Unique Group's India office has been selected by Trelleborg's off- shore operation as one of its agents in India. As a part of the agreement, Unique Group's base in India will offer the full range of solutions from Trelleborg's offshore operation to customers within the region. Geodetic Buys Two Nexus USBLs Geodetic Offshore Services Ltd. (GOSL), a major operator in the Ni- gerian energy industry, has purchased two Applied Acoustics' Nexus USBL positioning systems to deploy on off- shore projects, including underwater installation, diver monitoring, seabed surveys and ROV operations. The company deploys its Nexus USBL systems with 1000 Series Mini positioning beacons and the smaller 200 Series Micro beacons from Ap- plied Acoustics. The larger beacons are most often mounted on the GOSL work-class ROVs, such as its Argus Mariner or its Super Mohawk, and are also used to track divers during inspection work. Fugro Marks 35 Years of Asset Integrity in North Sea Fugro is marking a 35-year his- tory of providing an asset integrity program on one of the Ninian oil field platforms in the North Sea. Op- erator CNR International is working with Fugro to monitor the structural integrity of the Ninian Southern Plat- form (NSP) using a permanent online monitoring (OLM) system. Accelerometers positioned at vari- ous locations on the platform com- bine with a wave radar to help cor- relate structural motions with wave conditions. This allows monitoring of the sway and torsion natural frequen- cies of the platform in response to changing weather patterns. The OLM system is interrogated daily by Fugro's onshore team, who check key parameters and assess data trends. The current system is con- tracted through to 2020. ST offshore oil & ocean engineering
