www.sea-technology.com October 2016 / st 27 T he International Wa- ter Conference (IWC) is a strong education conference for under- standing and dealing with the technical and business challenges of industrial water treatment. This year's conference will take place November 6 to 10 in San Antonio, Texas. The IWC presents the latest in scientific advances and practical applications in this field, cutting across a wide range of industries, technologies and functional areas. As the preeminent international technical forum in the field, the IWC brings together end-users, researchers, practicing engineers, managers, educators, suppliers and contractors. Attendees come to learn unbiased details about the latest applications available in the industry, get educated on cur- rent technology and hold wide-ranging discussions with their peers active in water treatment. Program This year, more than 75 technical papers and 24 Con- tinuing Education Workshops are scheduled. Each paper presentation at the IWC is followed by a prepared discus- sion—a thoroughly considered, different perspective on the topic, followed by an open floor discussion when all audi- ence members and presenters can fully interact—ask ques- tions, seek clarification and raise alternative viewpoints. The IWC Continuing Education Workshop program is de- signed to provide practical information that includes a basic understanding of the topic, as well as detailed case studies. The workshops are presented by experts in the field and are loaded with technical content. Workshops start on Sunday, November 6, at 1 p.m. Each workshop provides an opportu- nity for a technical exchange between students, the instructor and other workshop participants. Once the workshops finish for the day, the Exhibit Hall will have a Welcome Reception starting at 5 p.m. Exhibit Hall The Exhibit Hall is the hub of all attendee gatherings and networking events; hosting luncheons, receptions and the chance to meet with suppliers, manufacturing companies and more during the conference. The IWC Exhibit Hall features more than 100 different opportunities to learn about practical and innovative solutions for the industrial water treatment industry from industry leaders. The networking coffee breaks, luncheons and receptions are hosted throughout the exhibit hall, giving attendees op- portunities to continue learning in between technical ses- sions. Attendees can also participate in Exhibit Hall Bingo as they network. Attendees that visit each booth on the bingo card will be eligible for a prize drawing. These net- working breaks also afford exhibitors an opportunity to at- tend technical sessions along with other attendees. Keynote Session The IWC Keynote Session kicks off the 2016 confer- ence on Monday, November 7 at 11 a.m. We are pleased to invite Bill Kennedy of Duke Energy Corp. to be the 2016 keynote speaker. In addition, there is a presentation of the annual awards, including the IWC Award of Mer- it, the Paul Cohen Award and the Joseph A. Levendusky Memorial Scholarship (sponsored by Epicor Inc. and the International Water Conference). These are awards given to an outstanding individual in the field of industrial wa- ter technology, an author from the most recent IWC, and an undergraduate student in mechanical or chemical en- gineering, respectively. This program would not be pos- sible without sponsors showing their commitment to the advancement of the water industry. IWC App New this year to IWC is the introduction of a confer- ence app. The IWC App (for Android, Apple and the Web) is in development and will be available for this year's conference attendees. Companies can display their logo in a banner ad to at- tract more leads. Attendees can tap the advertisements to see other resources in the app or on the Web. An effective banner ad can drive traffic to your booth or website, in- crease industry visibility, and boost sales. Another spon- sorship opportunity that is available is push notifications to send out alerts and updates so you can connect with more attendees.
