Drawing on the strengths of each organi- zation, the partners will make E-learning expertise from Safebridge and the wide-ranging onboard training platform from Seagull available through a combined offer, benefiting seafarers worldwide. Under the agreement, Seagull is entitled to add the com- plete Safebridge range of ECDIS training packages to its well-known onboard Seagull Training System (STS), which is accessible via computer. ClassNK Opens New Offce in Bahrain ClassNK has opened a new exclusive survey office in Bahrain. The island nation is in the Persian Gulf and is home to the Middle East's main ship repair yard. Through the opening of this office, ClassNK will improve the effi- ciency of its ship surveys in the Persian Gulf region. BSM, Optimum Announce New Joint Venture Co. Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) and Optimum Ship Management have launched a new joint venture part- nership, Hanseatic Cruise Services. Based in Singapore, Hanseatic Cruise Services will provide comprehensive, world-class passenger vessel management services to third- party clients around the world. Marlink Moves to New Singapore Offce Marlink has moved to a new office in Singapore in order to meet the growing demand for delivery and support of its portfolio of multiband, business-critical communication so- lutions for maritime customers operating in Southeast Asia. The new office includes a fully equipped support center operating seven days a week, in addition to live test, dem- onstration and training facilities, covering all of Marlink's core connectivity services and solutions. GMS Expands Global Network GMS, a buyer of ships and offshore structures, has launched a new operation in Korea. The office will be headed by Gyungbae Gil. The move will allow GMS to strengthen its position in the important East Asian market and grow its expanding customer base. GMS has worked with a significant number of Korean owners and brokers for many years, and as the Korean market continues to grow, more vessels will need to be recycled. The Training Academy Launches Marine Surveying Seminars The Training Academy, the training division of the Maritime Services Group, has launched marine survey- ing seminars delivered by Ian Biles, one of the world's foremost marine surveyors. Seminars range from Marine Incident Investigation and Risk Assessment in Ship Op- erations to The Marine Surveyor as an Expert Witness and ISM for Superyachts, all designed to support marine sur- veyors and those in related roles to significantly expand their knowledge.
