The partnership will support the enhancement, attraction and development of marine professionals in the Philip- pines. All will gain access to the IMarEST's vast online library of technical knowledge, be able to join local events, as well as putting those who are working toward gaining their Certificates of Competency on a path to be able to use these toward a globally recognized professional qualifica- tion. CGG Celebrates 50th Anniversary of ARGAS Joint Venture in Middle East CGG congratulates ARGAS, its geophysical services joint venture with TAQA in the Middle East, on its 50th anniversary. Since its creation in January 1966, ARGAS has consistently delivered geophysical innovation and superior technical performance, expanding its business scope from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the whole Arabian Penin- sula and Egypt. ARGAS began operating as Saudi Arabia's leading geo- physical partner for the exploration and development of hydrocarbon, water and mineral resources. Research Vessel Coated With Ecospeed in Poland Ecospeed was applied on the hull of the multipurpose research vessel Imor in Gdask, Poland. Owned by the Mar- itime Institute in Gdask, this catamaran was designed to perform a range of tasks such as oceanographic measure- ments and hydrographic or geophysical operations. The RV Imor was built in 2005 as a multipurpose shal- low-water survey and ROV support vessel. It is mainly used for operations in the Baltic and North Sea area. Danelec Marine Opens New European Distribution Center Danelec Marine has opened a new European distri- bution center in Copenhagen, Denmark, to better serve its growing business regionally. Managed by GEODIS, a global supply chain command company, the distribution center will carry a full range of Danelec Marine products and parts, including ECDIS, voyage data recorders (VDRs) and simplified voyage data recorders (S-VDRs). Maritime Autonomy Focus for Members Of Society of Maritime Industries Companies seeking to develop their business opportu- nities in maritime autonomous systems (MAS) will have the support of the Society of Maritime Industries (SMI). In response to member demand the trade association has formed a seventh focus group for its maritime engineering membership, which will be led by an MAS Council. MAS impinges on a wide range of maritime applications such as the marine scientific and offshore energy market, deep sea mining, maritime warfare and security operations. SeaByte, OceanServer Announce Partnership SeeByte and OceanServer have announced a new com- mercial partnership. The companies successfully delivered three Iver3 systems with SeeByte's software to the U.K.'s Ministry Of Defence (MOD) Defence Equipment and Sup- port (DE&S;). Following that success, both companies are offering the Iver3 EOD-XO Neptune Edition. Designed to enhance mine countermeasure missions, the system offers launch and re- covery software management, water column flight manage- ment, static and dynamic exclusion zones, survey and re- acquire tasks, and real-time progress and status monitoring. Saab Seaeye Wins Corporate Excellence Award Saab Seaeye has won the Corporate Excellence Award from the Washington, D.C.-based Marine Technology Soci- ety. The award is given in recognition of an organization's considerable contribution to the industry and to ROV tech- nology. Chair of the Marine ROV Committee, Chuck Richards, presented the award at the Underwater Intervention show in New Orleans to James Douglas of Saab Seaeye. Kongsberg Maritime to Grow Rental Service Kongsberg Maritime Ltd. is expanding its extensive sub- sea Aberdeen-based rental pool with the addition of the MUNIN AUV. The MUNIN is designed to collect high- resolution payload data, georeferenced by a survey-grade positioning system. It is a compact vehicle that enables ef- fortless launch and recovery, as well as the possibility of using smaller launch vessels. The AUV will be available in May 2016. Sonardyne Deepwater Pressure Testing Facility Hiring Sonardyne International Ltd. is hiring for its new deep water hydrostatic pressure testing chamber, one of the largest in the U.K. Located at its headquarters in Yateley, England, the facility is open to third-party companies and organizations to test the integrity of their underwater com- ponents and instruments by simulating water depths up to 6,300 m (20,670 ft.) UTEC Survey Appoints Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia Agents UTEC Survey appointed Zamil Group as its partner agent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The appointment allows UTEC Survey to support projects undertaken by its clients actively involved with ARAMCO 'LTA' contracting agree- ments. These contracts include significant offshore brown- field support projects involving pipeline and platform infra- structure upgrades over a seven-year cycle. international
