Under the agreement, MSC will use INTTRA's eVGM software as a channel for receiving veri- fed gross mass (VGM) submissions from shippers. As of July 1, under the International Maritime Organiza- tion's Safety of Life at Sea amendment (SOLAS VGM), no con- tainer will be cleared to be loaded onto a ship until the ship- per or its designee provides a verifed weight to the carrier. J.F. Lehman and Co. Acquires American Scaffold J.F. Lehman and Co. has acquired American Scaffold in partnership with company management. Employing nearly 300 people across the U.S., American Scaffold is a provider of scaffolding and environmental control solutions for main- tenance, repair and overhaul of U.S. government vessels. Fitch Affrms 'A' Bond Rating to Canaveral With $617 million in capital projects planned and under- way for expansion of its cruise and cargo operations moving forward, Canaveral Port Authority has received Fitch's "A" rat- ing for $26.9 million of outstanding revenue bonds, series 2005 and 2006 A&B;, and a rating of "stable" for all Port bonds. Fitch attributed the rating affrmation to Port Canaveral's established operating history, recent sustained tourism-relat- ed revenue growth and the corresponding favorable operat- ing contracts and cost management, aggressive, but fexible, capital program and no anticipated borrowing. Washington State Ferries Partners with Furuno Washington State Ferries (WSF) is partnering up with Fu- runo for feet modernization. WSF maintains the largest feet of ferries in the United States, and the fourth largest in the world. With the largest product lineup in the marine electron- ics industry, according to the company, Furuno has reliably updated its equipment and kept the design and setup simple. NBSAC Seeks Members to Fill Vacancies The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking applications for mem- bership to fll upcoming vacancies on the National Boating Safety Advisory Council (NBSAC). Each member serves a three-year term, with two being state offcials responsible for state boating safety programs, three being recreational boat and associated equipment manufacturers and two being recreational boating organiza- tions. Applications must reach the Coast Guard by May 23, 2016. The Mariners' Museum Library Closed to the Public until Fall 2017 Starting April 1, The Mariners' Museum Library is closed to the public to allow staff time to prepare for the temporary reloca- tion of the fragile, one-of-a-kind items from its vast collection. The library consists of more than 2,000,000 items, including books, magazines, rare books, manuscripts, maps and charts, vessel plans, newspaper articles, photographs, Chris-Craft ar- chives, and museum archives, making it the largest maritime library in the Western Hemisphere.
