After stepping in at short notice for another contractor, InterMoor hooked up the 80,000 bbl/d spar to three moni- toring lines in Green Canyon Block 860, offshore Louisi- ana, at a water depth of 5,300 ft. Durable AZEK Deck Selected for Madeira Beach Docks Students at The Madeira Beach Fundamental School in Madeira Beach, Florida, have a new fshing dock built with low-maintenance AZEK Deck, designed to endure harsh marine environments. As part of their robust marine science program, students rely on the dock. When it showed signs of deterioration, the PTSA funded "Dollars for Docks" to replace it. The PTSA chose AZEK Deck's brownstone color, and the project was completed in less than three weeks. Makai Ocean Engineering Inc. Announces Newly Expanded Corrosion Services Makai Ocean Engineering Inc. is now providing expand- ed corrosion services at their Marine Corrosion Laboratory (MCL) in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The MCL is staffed with corrosion engineers and state- of-the-art equipment for a wide range of research, develop- ment, testing and evaluation services. Capabilities of the lab include basic corrosion science research and applied engineering solutions for the prevention of marine corro- sion. Imports Up as Retailers Look Toward Holiday Season According to the monthly Global Port Tracker report re- leased by the National Retail Federation and Hackett As- sociates, import cargo volume at the nation's major retail container ports is expected to increase 3.6 percent in Au- gust over the same time last year as retailers begin to bring in merchandise for the holiday season. July was estimated at 1.59 million TEU, up 6 percent from 2014. August is forecast at 1.57 million TEU, up 3.6 percent; September at 1.59 million TEU, down 0.1 percent; October at 1.58 million TEU, up 1.2 percent; November at 1.45 million TEU, up 4.5 percent; and December at 1.4 million TEU, down 2.8 percent. Furuno Selected by Holland America Line to Retroft Cruise Ships Holland America Line (HAL) has selected Furuno bridge solution to retroft their cruise ships with the latest in fully integrated navigation systems starting with their frst ship, MS Westerdam.
