The exhibit hall is open Tuesday through Thursday, with ample oppor- tunity for delegates to visit during the technical sessions, coffee breaks and the exhibitors reception. New to the exhibit hall this year will be the Product Theater, which will fea- ture presentations on innovative tech- nologies. Nonconference attendees can visit the exhibits for free, but must register. Networking and Social Functions Part of what makes attending a con- ference valuable is the many network- ing opportunities: to catch up with long-time colleagues, make new con- tacts, explore possible partnerships, and follow up on those interesting technical discussions. In addition to the chance meetings in hallways and coffee breaks, OCEANS'15 will host the ice breaker reception on Monday evening, the OES Awards luncheon and exhibitors reception on Tuesday, and the MTS Awards luncheon and gala dinner, with a fun casino theme, on Wednesday. Poster Competition And Affliated Events MTS and IEEE/OES place great im- portance on supporting the next gen- eration of professionals. The Student Poster Contest, with funding from the Offce of Naval Research, supports 20 student fnalists from around the world to attend the conference and present their posters before a panel of profes- sional judges. The posters can be found on the exhibition foor. Two preconference events are scheduled for people with special in- terests. K-12 educators can sign up for an all-day workshop sponsored by the MTS Education Committee on Satur- day, October 17, to learn about inte- grating lessons on ROVs, water quality sensors, buoys and deep-sea explo- ration. And those who like to swing a club are invited to the Welcome Aboard Golf Tournament at Andrews Air Force Base on Sunday, October 18. Sponsored by the MTS DC Section, proceeds will support STEM education programs, such as Sea Scouts.
