This year's conference boasts the largest technical program in SEG Annual Meeting history. The Annual Meeting will expand on many of last year's successful initiatives, including registration and self-serve kiosks for check-in and badge printing; a members-only breakfast Tuesday, October 20; the 3rd Annual SEG Wiki Meetup Monday, October 19 to Wednesday, October 21; childcare services for attendees; and on-site attendee sur- veys for improved and increased feedback. New Offerings and Features SEG boasts several new features for this year's conference attendees that include a new, more user-friendly annual meeting website (www.seg.org/am); a Women's Network- ing Roundtable on Wednesday, October 21 with a special focus on women in the industry; expansion of the on-site re- booking booth for the 2016 SEG Annual Meeting in Dallas; on-site exhibitor surveys and flmed client/exhibitor testimo- T he Society of Exploration Geo- physicists (SEG) returns to New Orleans after a nine-year hiatus for its International Exposition and 85th An- nual Meeting October 18 to 23. The Annual Meeting is one of the year's most anticipated events, bringing together more than 8,500 attendees from 70 countries, representing the felds of glob- al oil, gas and mineral exploration to new areas of civil en- gineering, environmental regulation and archaeology. Highlights This year's meeting will be held at the state-of-the-art Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and like prior Annual Meetings, this year boasts an array of sessions, workshops and networking opportunities to appeal to all attendees. This year, attendees will choose from more than 1,100 pre- sentations in 146 diverse sessions. The recent and rapid decline in the price of crude oil has posed a signifcant challenge to global energy companies, forcing them to make drastic cuts to their exploration and production budgets.
