26 st / May 2015 www.sea-technology.com ECA RSM designs and manufactures a wide range of un- manned systems. Their subsea applications include survey, inspections, mining, tracking of telecommunications, and power cables. ECA's proposed solutions are autonomous and specifcally designed systems that carry out a variety of inspection tasks, from ultradeep offshore oilfelds to inspec- tion of pipelines, risers and mooring lines. Returning DSIT Solutions (Givat Shmuel, Israel) has de- veloped a harbor surveillance system that reliably detects, intercepts and physically blocks intruders, including divers, swimmers, SDVs (swimmer delivery vehicles), submersibles and mines. Other exhibitors include EvoLogics GmbH (Berlin, Germany), which specializes in underwater communica- tion and positioning systems such as the Sonobot, an au- tonomous unmanned surface vehicle. It was developed to provide surveyors, service providers and researchers with a smart, lightweight solution for hydrographic surveys and other applications in harbors and inland waters. Also of note, Kongsberg Defence Systems (Kongsberg, Norway), a leader in submarine and surface ship combat systems and mine countermeasures systems, has developed C'Inspector, a multipurpose ROV that combines the autono- mous features from an AUV with the interactive capabilities of a ROV. It can be used for inspection, interactive threat identifcation and intercept. "I am delighted to welcome such an impressive array of new exhibitors to this year's event, and, as always, it is good to see such a committed contingent of companies who have traditionally supported the show," said Alex Soar, UDT event manager. n issues, from global tensions and technological innovation to regulation, that will affect the development, deployment and employment of new underwater systems in the civil, military and security spheres. The panel at UDT will explore the contemporary context of increasing subsea systems pro- curement and the growth in autonomous systems. Broad Exhibitor Base On the show foor, cutting-edge technology will be on display. UDT is welcoming frst-time exhibitors: Ortega Submersibles (Enschede, Netherlands), ECA RSM (Toulon, France), NOVEK (Nunspeet, Netherlands), Avon Protection (Melksham, England), Image Soft Oy (Helsinki, Finland), STL Systemtechnik Ludwig GmbH (Konstanz, Germany) and STS Safe Tensioning System (Wavre, Belgium). Return- ing exhibitors include: Copper Alloys Ltd. (The Midlands, England), ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems GmbH (Kiel, Ger- many), MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH (Friedrichshafen, Ger- many)—exhibiting for the frst time outside Germany since 2010—and Abeking and Rasmussen (Lemwerder, Germa- ny). Teledyne RD Instruments (Poway, California) is increasing its presence by nearly 20 square meters, while other primes confrmed include Babcock International Group (London, England), Saab (Stockholm, Sweden) and Atlas Elektronik GmbH (Bremen, Germany). The importance of unmanned systems is refected in the UDT exhibitor base. Ortega Submersibles manufactures the Ortega Explorer, a high-end, fast, single-person submersible designed for treasure hunting, archaeological research and other submersed adventures.
