www.sea-technology.com May 2015 / st 17 T he CLEAN PACIFIC conference and exhibition, taking place June 16 to 18 in Vancouver, British Co- lumbia, Canada, offers three days of training, net- working and the latest technologies for anyone in- volved in spill prevention and response. The event provides a forum for operators, responders, regulators and environ- mental groups to discuss lessons learned and best practices and view new products and solutions from a variety of com- panies. The educational content covers a wide variety of spill preparedness and response topics, with a focus on the growth in crude transportation by rail, pipeline and vessel. CLEAN PACIFIC is co-hosted by the member agencies of the Pacifc States/British Columbia Oil Spill Task Force. It incorporates the Task Force's 2015 Annual Meeting. The 2015 agenda was developed by an advisory committee rep- resenting state/provincial and federal governments, industry and nonproft partners in oil spill prevention, preparedness and re- sponse. Show Program The training workshops that will take place on Tuesday, June 16, are "Building and Executing a Communication Strategy Before a Spill Occurs" and "Shoreline/Inland Re- sponse and SCAT Surveys." The conference will kick-off with the keynote address on June 17, which will be given by Roger Girouard, assis- tant commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard, Western Region. Immediately following, a mega-session will take place that focuses on framing the issues of energy transport across the West Coast of Canada.
