We are pleased to announce that we have added more techni- cal program subject offerings for UI 2015 to satisfy the needs of our respective industries, such as ASV technology, certifcation opportu- nities with updates, and regulatory changes that include international sales of technology covered by U.S. federal regulations. Attendees Underwater Intervention is a show for oil and gas industry pro- fessionals, experts and managers; industry leaders who seek infor- mation and technologies for future operations; senior decision mak- ers from international and regional underwater operators; underwater operations service and equipment suppliers; ocean engineering and construction companies; commercial diving and ROV contractors; and underwater operations consultants, engineers, project managers and purchasing agents. Technical Program UI 2015's technical program topics include: commercial diving; work-class ROVs; observation-class ROVs; manned submersibles; instruments and sensors; marine education/ academia; decommissioning; ocean exploration and re- search technology; AUV and ASV technologies; and marine archaeology. Highlights Among the highlights of UI 2015 will be a demonstra- tion tank, sponsored by Epic Divers & Marine (Belle Chasse, Louisiana); the U.S. Gulf Coast Diving Safety Work Group; the Lionfsh Symposium; and new-product workshops for U nderwater Intervention (UI) will take place February 10 to 12, 2015 at the Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, Louisiana. It is a nonproft industry conference and exhibition, jointly run by the Association of Diving Contractors International and the ROV Com- mittee of the Marine Technology Society. Underwater Intervention's sponsoring organizations are non- proft, membership-supported, pro- fessional organizations. Proceeds from the annual conference go back into member-driven programs that support education and training, provide scholarships, and support safety initiatives throughout the un- derwater operations industries. History Until the early 1990s, the Asso- ciation of Diving Contractors Inter- national and the ROV Committee of the Marine Technology Society hosted separate conferences: ROV Intervention and the Diving Symposium. The increased common ground be- tween the commercial diving and ROV industries created an atmosphere ripe for a merger of the two conferences. In 1993, the frst Underwater Intervention was hosted in San Diego, California. Now, 22 years later, Underwater Intervention has grown to encompass other industries in addition to commercial diving and ROVs. We now include manned submersibles; instruments and sensors; sonar and acoustics; ocean en- gineering; marine salvage and shipwrecks; AUV, ASV and UUV technology; deepwater feld development; decommis- sioning of structures; and marine education. In February 2014, Underwater Intervention, held in New Orleans, covered more than 26,000 square feet of exhibit space. We hosted more than 2,800 attendees from more than 39 countries, and our technical program offered more Underwater Intervention ST Conference Preview
