The Coast Guard approval signifes that the Willard Marine rescue boat meets the standards established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) under the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) treaty and Title 46 Code of Federal Regulations. IMS Dredges Receives US Presidential Award U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker presented IMS Dredges (Prairie Village, Kansas) with the President's "E" Award for Exports at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. The "E" Awards are the highest recognition any U.S. entity may receive for making a signifcant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports. During the awards ceremony Secretary Pritzker gave special recognition to IMS for their exporting success. ORPC's RivGen Power System Welcomed to Alaska Ocean Renewable Power Co. (Portland, Maine), ORPC, kicked off its frst installation of ORPC technology in Alaska at a formal gathering attended by more than 70 people. The event featured the company's RivGen Power System. A self-deploying submersible hydrokinetic system de- signed for smaller river applications in water depths of 15 feet or more, the RivGen Power System will be installed and operated in the Kvichak River at the Village of Igiugig, Alaska, this summer. Peptide Technologies Inc. Signs Distribution Agreement Peptide Technologies Inc. (Seattle, Washington) signed an exclusive global distribution agreement for its AquaNat- ural Marine coating with All-Sea Coatings Ltd. (Vancouver, Canada). The agreement with All-Sea Coatings provides a sales conduit and exclusive rights for the AquaNatural Ma- rine coating. All-Sea Coatings will be responsible for de- ployment and commercialization in both the commercial and leisure marine marketplace. The AquaNatural Marine Coating is a customizable friction-reduction paint formula for stationary or mobile marine assets. ASL Builds Custom Acoustic Instrument ASL Environmental Sciences Inc. (Victoria, Canada) has been awarded a $0.5 million contract by the University of Georgia to build a reciprocal transmission acoustic scintil- lation instrument to measure the fow dynamics of a hydro- thermal vent plume. The instrument will be installed at the NEPTUNE cabled observatory at the Endeavour hydrother- mal vent site, approximately 300 kilometers off the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, in 2,200 meters water depth. The deployment is scheduled for 2016. Mitcham Industries Announces Acquisition Mitcham Industries Inc. (Huntsville, Texas) announced that its subsidiary, Seamap Pte Ltd. (Singapore), which de- signs, manufactures and sells specialized marine seismic equipment, has acquired the marine energy source prod- uct lines from ION Geophysical Corp. (Houston, Texas).
