(Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) has deployed its new Saab Seaeye Ltd. (Fareham, England) Panther XT Plus ROV in the shallow waters of the upper Persian Gulf. The Panther can take on 90 percent of the tasks normally done by CCCs 150-horsepower hydraulic work-class ROVs. The U.S. Coast Guard has worked with Indonesia to advance its port security measures, which now align with those set forth in the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code. Vessels that have visited Indonesia can now arrive in the U.S. unimpeded by previous, more burdensome security measures. Indonesia was previously on the Coast Guards Port Security Advisory list for observed lapses in anti-terrorism measures. The Coast Guard then conducted several visits to provide technical assistance and assess port security measures. Improvements were made, and by 2011, 34 port facilities were exempted from requirements for more intrusive measures due to adequate anti-terrorism improvements. The Coast Guard removed Indonesia from the Port Security Advisory in December 2012. Fugro Orders New HUGIN AUVs Fugro Survey Ltd.
